Nicki Minaj and Mavado perform Give It All to Me live

Hot 97’s annual Reggae and Dancehall show On Da Reggae News Tip was set ablaze recently when Mavado called out surprised Guest Nicki Minaj to perform their new hit collaboration “Give It All to Me”.

It has been the first time they have perform live together and received great reaction from the crowd.

The single is doing great things internationally with the Overdrive Riddim gaining repeat rotation on various radio stations all over the world.

Both Mavado and Nicki Minaj has recently completed the shooting of the video for the single and will surely be popping up at various events to give the single even more exposure.

This years On Da Reggae Tip was well received as it features some of the biggest names in Reggae and Dancehall such as the Dr Beenie Man, Damian Marley, Gyptian, QQ, Konshens and Many more.

The biggest talking point was the combination of Nicki Minaj and Mavado but the entire show was great.

Reggae and Dancehall is huge in New York and was really glad to see all the Dancehall talents taking to the stage this year. All acts did a great performance but I must admit I was pleased with the Nicki Minaj and Mavado combination.
Over the summer I have been pushing the Over Drive Riddim on my Reggae and Dancehall show and happy that with this new combination the Riddim will gain even more popularity. Much respect needs to go out to JA productions who built the Riddim and I cant wait for more of there Riddim to be released as they have had a great last couple of years.

I really love to see Rap artist being smart with their money and investing it to branch out their talent. Nicki Minaj has always maintained a great level of focus in which I respect and I have always admired her hustle. The clothing range looks good and I am sure after the success of her perfumes that the new K Mart collection will gain similar success.

Shabba Ranks to release new album after 15 years

According to the popular Jamaican newspaper “The Observer” Dancehall Superstar Shabba Ranks is currently in the process of working on a new studio album.

“I am working on numerous ideas to create hit records,” Shabba told the Observer. “A new album is always in the works, when a major record label is ready to do some business then we will see how it goes in terms of a release.”

Shabba Ranks And Friends was released in 1999 so it has been almost 15 years since Shabba released his last studio album and the long and anticipated album is scheduled to be released sometime in 2014.

This is a great look for the Dancehall Veteran and double Grammy award winner Shabba Ranks. He is well respected within the Reggae and Dancehall industry and is a true icon. I am quite intrigued to hear what Shabba has in store for his fans with being away from quite sometime recording hit songs. He has had a few top tracks such as None of Them on Di Genius AKA Stephen McGregor’s Pepper Riddim but the fans will be expecting a consistently hot album such as both 1992 classics X-tra Naked and Rough And Ready Volume 1. I wish Shabba the best of luck with this new venture and I am personally confident the Dancehall Icon wont let his fans down.

Eminem Officially Announces MMLP2 November Release Date

During the VMAs Marshall Mathers aka Slim Shady better known as Eminem has announced that he will be dropping the long awaited Marshall Mathers LP 2.
This is big news to the Hip Hop world who remember the Original Marshall Mathers LP which was released around Summer 2000.

The controversial rapper has confirmed that the new album will be released on November 5 2013 and has confirmed that the album was produced by produced by the one and only Dr Dre and Rick Rubin.

Eminem’s close friend Royce Da 5’ 9” has confirmed that the world will be in for a element surprise when this album drops

“Em’s whole thing is the element of surprise. That’s how it’s always been with him.”

In addition to the news of Eminem’s album he also released a track off it called “Berserk,” which is currently creating storm as Eminem takes shots an Kardashian and also name checking Kendrick Lamar.

Eminem seems to be busy dropping tracks as Beserk was released less than a month after Eminem released a single “Survival” which is the official sound track to the trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

I have always rated Eminem and I must admit The Marshall Mathers LP was probably my last favourite Eminem album so I am in great anticipation to listen to this one. Berserk is a good track and it is in true Eminem fashion where he throws shots at various artist or celebrities.
The fact that the new album will be produced by Dr Dre and Rick Rubin you can be sure the quality and production will be top quality. As i haven’t paid much attention to Eminem the last couple of years I will be intrigued to see whether he can still deliver a quality album such as Slim Shady or The Marshall Mathers LP.

Is that Charly Black Whining a naked girl on Stage

Rumours have been circulating that Popular Dancehall news Star Charly Black had a nude female on stage whilst performing at shades night club on the beach. Pictures reveal a girl dancing practically naked in front of an artist wearing a cap that was originally mistaken as Konshens but is now rumoured to be Charly Black. shades night club has a reputation for the freaky type of party and the club is considered as a strip club on the beach

There was explosive performances by Elephant Man, Mr Lex and Lady Saw to mention a few at the exotic party in Ocho Rios.

shades nightclub in Ocho Rios is certainly becoming a more popular hotspot for a lot of ravers and especially on freaky night where we are seeing more and more Dancehall entertainers being booked for the venue.

From the image I can’t really make out who it is so don’t really want to add much comment here but this shows a high level of slackness. Regardless who the performer is this is quite a degrading act towards women and is quite a regular occurrence in the Dancehall scene. Sex has always been a selling point throughout many things such as advertisement, music videos etc… but during live performances I feel is a little too much but i guess the venue acts as a strip clubs on the beach so it is no surprise why these images will start to circulate.
